Knowledge Exchange - Share Your Knowledge and We'll Share Ours

At KnowMap, we like to use customer capital to innovate and develop content. Challenges offer a way to do so. Responding to our challenges is a way to share your knowledge with others and in return we will share knowledge with you through an Emerald subscription (3 free issues/6 months' worth) to KnowMap or free publications. (If you are already a subscriber, 3 additional issues will be added to your subscription.)

We now have these challenges:

 * Knowledge Innovation: The Role of Information Professionals
 * Knowledge Competencies: What Are the Necessary KSA and How Can We Acquire Them?
 * Global Learn Day Challenge!
 * Customer Focused Marketing Messages: An ENTOVATION Challenge!
 * Special Discussion: What is KM versus IM?
 * Map Challenge

 * Knowledge Innovation: The Role of Information Professionals

Debra M. Amidon challenges us: Are we ready to innovate our future together!
Read what others in the information profession have said about their role in moving organizations toward knowledge innovation. Then contribute your own views (you do not have to consider yourself an information professional) to win a complimentary Emerald subscription to KnowMap. (If you are already a subscriber, 3 additional issues will be added to your subscription.)

 * Knowledge Competencies: What Are the Necessary KSA and How Can We Acquire Them?

Although Tulloch no longer needs responses to her survey as she now has completed her Emporia State University MLS requirements, our readers continue to be interested in this topic. If you would like to contribute your ideas by completing the survey, which will now come to us, we will publish these in a later issue of KnowMap and reward you for your knowledge sharing with a complimentary Emerald subscription. (If you are already a subscriber, 3 additional issues will be added to your subscription.)

 * Global Learn Day Challenge

We are seeking stories and news to feature in our Case Studies - Learning Connecting the Dots section. The stories should feature how some person or organization is increasing affordable access to education. The submitter as well as the person or organization featured will receive an Emerald subscription to KnowMap and in addition the featured person or organization may become eligible as a nominee for the Socrates Academy Awards. (If you are already a subscriber, 3 additional issues will be added to your subscription.) Please send your stories to using the subject: Global Learn Day Challenge!

See also Special Views for additional articles on Global Learn Day and the Socrates Academy.

Our former GLD Challenge is now closed but you may still read about it at Unlocked The Education Scare: The Monster is Out There!

 * Customer Focused Marketing Messages: An ENTOVATION Challenge!

Add to the listing of Customer Specific Advertising Messages on Knowledge. The best entry will win a copy of The Architecture Primer and an Emerald (3 issues/ 6 months) subscription to KnowMap. Any submissions used will also guarantee the submitter an Emerald subscription. (If you are already a subscriber, 3 additional issues will be added to your subscription.) However, only the best one as selected by Debra M. Amidon will be awarded a copy of ENTOVATION International's The Architecture Primer (see Review).

To enter, read below and follow the directions given at the end:

A listing of Customer Specific Advertising Messages on Knowledge Management appeared in Amidon's book Innovation Strategy for the Knowledge Economy: The Ken Awakening. These messages have been tracked to the concept of customer partnering explained in the two part article Customer Innovation: A Function of Knowledge: Part I - The Theory and Customer Innovation: A Function of Knowledge: Part II - The Practice by Debra M. Amidon, Founder and Chief Strategist, ENTOVATION International Ltd.

How many more such messages can we generate to add to the original listing?

Send us your submission and be sure to cite the source from which it was taken and the company that originated the message. E-mail Editor, KnowMap with the subject line: The ENTOVATION Challenge!

 * Special Discussion: What is KM versus IM?

One of the best ways to learn and leverage knowledge is by sharing thoughts and experiences with others. We invite you to add your comments on the issue raised by Denham Grey, Chief Executive Officer, GreyMatter Inc., one of our contributors to Vol 1, No. 2. He wonders: "if others also see the need to archive, as a attribute that separates knowledge from information?"

Read Grey's Letter and our editorial comments. Then join the debate: What is KM versus IM? What activities and what attributes separate the two?

Win an Emerald subscription (3 complimentary issues) to KnowMap for your contribution. (If you are already a subscriber, 3 additional issues will be added to your subscription.)

 * Map Challenge

Here's your chance to earn fame for your knowledge mapping skills. Submit a knowledge map; the best ones will be featured in future issues of KnowMap! Can't map yet? Spot a knowledge map someone else has done and win a prize for yourself and the original mapper.

Win an Emerald subscription (3 complimentary issues) to KnowMap for your contribution. (If you are already a subscriber, 3 additional issues will be added to your subscription.)

For other ways to obtain complimentary issues of KnowMap and other prizes, see Collaborators.
