Piero Formica

Piero FormicaPiero Formica, a native of Italy is currently Dean of the International University of Entrepreneurship in Amsterdam, and Senior Research Fellow at the Enterprise Research and Development Centre, Business School, University of Central England in Birmingham. He is also visiting professor of Economics of Innovation and Business Policy at the post-graduate Course of Business Law - SPISA, University of Bologna, where he has been member of the Board of Directors between 1988 and 1992, and at the Curtin Business School - Curtin University of Technology (Perth, Western Australia).

In the business world he is involved as director of internationalisation to the Zernike Group in the Netherlands, an international company that runs seed capital funds and promotes the commercialisation of innovation and know how. Formica has over 30 years of experience in the fields of international economics and economics of innovation, working with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Economic Prospects Division in Paris; large corporations; small companies; governmental bodies and the European Union.

Formica is a member of the following: IASP (International Association of Science Parks) Scientific Committee, board of directors of Transinnova (Rouen, France), ENTOVATION (enterprise knowledge innovation) Network and SPICE, an international network of Science Parks and Incubators experts.
