Libby Trudell
She has been in the information industry for more than 25 years. Prior to Dialog, she had 7 years of experience in networks and consortia serving the library community, where she handled customer support, training and marketing for electronic information services including OCLC (Online Computer Library Center, Incorporated), RLIN (Research Libraries Information Network), OnTyme electronic mail and a variety of library automation software products. She started her career at the Massachusetts Bureau of Library Extension, administering funding for federal library grants. Trudell has been an active member of the Special Libraries Association since 1995, having held roles as Chair, Information Technology (ITE) Division Strategic Planning Committee and Chair, ITE Virtual Section. She has served as a Director of the San Andreas Chapter, responsible for program planning since June 2000, and is in-coming President of the chapter. Previously, she was active in the Machine-Assisted Reference Section of ALA (American Library Association) and was a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Library. She has published a number of articles and papers on the information industry and is a frequent speaker at professional meetings.
