Barbara Weaver Smith

Arian WardBarbara Weaver Smith is the president of Smith Weaver Smith, Inc., facilitators of accelerated cultural transformations in rapidly changing organizations in the corporate, not-for-profit and educational arenas. Weaver Smith's background includes four years as president of the Indiana Humanities Council and 20 years of educational leadership at Anderson University and Ball State University, where she served five years as dean of the University College. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree in English Composition and Rhetoric.

In addition to managing cultural transformation projects for her clients, Weaver Smith's work includes training, distance learning and public speaking. She publishes an e-newsletter and the online journal Talking Culture, Talking Knowledge. She also hosts more than a dozen online communities, including public forums on knowledge management, cultural change and the OD Cyber Café. Barbara is a member of the Venture Club of Indiana and the Indiana Information Technology Association and is an advisor to the Indiana Center for Intercultural Communication. Governor Frank O'Bannon named her "Sagamore of the Wabash" in 1998 for her service to the state of Indiana.
