Inman was presented with a crystal lotus, a symbol chosen by ENTOVATION Inc. for the many petals opened through knowledge innovation. The function ended with the Knowledge Concert, composed and performed by internationally renowned pianist Silvard. Amidon, whose organization ENTOVATION® comes from a combination of ENTerprise innOVATION, acknowledges: "To be competitive used to be a function of understanding the product development capability and business strategy. Today, one must innovate - create ideas and put them into products and services - in advance of the competition. Business intelligence is far more a function of knowing where and how a competitor is going and, then, innovating faster." She accredits Inman "with architecting the facility selection in Austin, the recruitment of a significant number of large-scale companies who were in many cases, arch competitors". Further she features his innovation in creating at MCC "a technopolis framework promoting new kinds of relationships/alliances between public and private sectors - especially government, business and academia".
